Enisa's book The Art of Oriental Dance (original title: Umetnost orijentalnog plesa) was published in Serbian in October 2010. In writing this book Enisa employed her many years of experience in oriental dance and recreational sports. In addition to that, she spent two years in further research needed for writing this book. Since this is the first such book published in Serbia and the region, it aroused immediate attention. Enisa was interviewed on the national television, less than a month after the book was published, and other media appearances followed. It received positive reviews from theatrical writer and producer Jovan Ćirilov, among others.
A special aspect of the publication is the connection between the more traditional print medium of the book and the most popular contemporary publication platform - the internet. The blog umetnost-orijentalnog-plesa.info is contains video illustrations of the book text and is also an opportunity for discussion between the readers and the author.
The book and the blog are in Serbian. However, the video blog posts are tagged also in English and in the original languages (mostly Arabic and Turkish) and an English summary of the book is coming soon.
Enisa's experience with Middle Eastern dance spans over a decade. She is currently based in Belgrade (Serbia) where she teaches oriental dance classes at her studio (see class info). She regularly performs at private and corporate functions in Serbia and in other countries in the region (more about the show). Apart from actively dancing, Enisa is also a published author on topics of history and theory of dance and performance art.
